I absolutely love the smell of lavender – these pretty purple flowers have a special place in my heart. Lavender is so beneficial to your overall health and wellness that I highly recommend everyone grows it in their gardens. We ended up with an over abundance of dried buds this year and I’ve been experimenting with different gifting ideas with my oldest (she’s at an age where she’s extremely curious about how everything works so this is right up her alley).

Olive oil contains natural antioxidants and fat-soluble vitamins making it extremely beneficial for your skin. It also happens to be deeply moisturizing. When looking for good quality olive oil look for “first cold-pressed” on the package; this means you’re getting olive oil that it is of highest quality and purity.

I chose to use organic cane sugar as it is more granular. If you have extremely sensitive skin you can use white granulated sugar or even brown sugar. I try to store everything I make in glass bottles for sanitary reasons. If you’re worried about handling a glass jar in a shower you can easily get silicone sleeves for your jars.

Ingredients:
- 1 cup sugar (cane, granulated or brown)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 heaping tablespoons of dried lavender buds
- 10 drops of lavender essential oil
Method:
- Mix all components together until well incorporated.
- store tightly in a glass jar and use within two weeks.
